We had quite a relaxing time in Dubrovnik which was a nice change of pace from the last few weeks. But we managed to catch up on some of our walking.
Today we explored the inlet where the ferries come in (both local and international). Then we walked around the peninsula through a very large ‘Auto Camp’ to Copocobana beach where we managed to dodge the ‘user pays’ deckchairs to the waters edge to dangle our feet in the water. It was very quiet the day that we were there, so there were only a few brollies out, but it seemed very nice with restaurant and bar right on the beach.
From here we thought that we would follow the waters edge back on the other side of the peninsula, but this wasn’t to be, as this space is taken up with hotels and topless sunbathers of all shapes and sizes (hotels that is). But we managed to get there in the end.
On the way home we went to the supermarket. It is when shopping for food that the language difficulty becomes most apparent. The descriptions on the packages defy phonetics, and the combinations of letters challenge the tongue. You are never quite sure what you will end up getting. But we ended up with a wonderful roast chicken (the first since leaving home). We took advantage of the available oven at our disposal :-)
